3D printing is a valuable tool for teaching mathematics and modeling. It has become less expensive and more accessible to teachers in K-12. In this teacher circle event, we are going to investigate the geometry of a set of 3D printed cylinders and discuss possible ways of using 3D printing in teaching mathematics.

The vision of the Montana Math Teachers’ Circle is to invigorate middle school and high school mathematics teachers through problem solving activities, to facilitate connections among and between teachers and mathematicians, and to create an ongoing, supportive, and collaborative community.

The Montana Math Teachers’ Circle is part of the National Association of Math Teachers’ Circle Network and is sponsored by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI), and the National Security Agency (NSA), and the American Institute of Mathematics (AIM).

Teachers come together, enjoy a nice dinner and do some fun math activities together.
Three OPI credits will be awarded for participation.
