The MCTM Elections Committee is now accepting recommendations for the 2019 MCTM elections. The 2019 elections will be for three (3) directors (a director for Region IV- Southcentral Montana; a middle school director; an at large director) for the MCTM Board and for a President-Elect. Board members are required to attend all Board meetings and represent the mathematics educators in their regions. The President-Elect will spend one year working in cooperation with the current President, serve a two-year term as President, one year as Past-President and one-year as NCTM Representative. Board members will attend 3 board meetings: the fall meeting is usually held in October prior to fall conference, the winter meeting is held online, and the summer meeting is held prior to a summer professional development opportunity.

Summer Course

CSCI 582 Computer Science in the Classroom: Joy & Beauty of Data is a two-credit course that runs July 23-27, 2018.  A Gianforte Foundation grant pays the tuition and fees in addition to a $1000 stipend for Montana math and science teachers. The goal of the grant is to provide training for teachers in high schools who would be willing to set up a dual enrollment computer science course. That course already exists and is titled CSCI 127: Joy and Beauty of Computing.
