Nominations Open for Distinguished Mathematics Instruction

The Awards Committee of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montana State University is seeking nominees for two awards for distinguished mathematics instruction. The awards are generously funded by Dr. William A. Stannard, Retired Professor of Mathematics and long-time MCTM member.

One award honors a Montana Teacher of Mathematics (any grade, K-12) who has distinguished themselves as “having been superior not only in imparting mathematical knowledge but in motivational academic efforts.” Please fill out this simple nomination form if you know of a K-12 Montana teacher who meets these criteria.

One award honors a Montana College Teacher of Mathematics who has distinguished themselves as “having been superior not only in imparting mathematical knowledge but in motivational academic efforts.” Please fill out this simple nomination form if you know of a college teacher who meets these criteria and teaches in Montana at any college or university (other than Montana State University in Bozeman).

You can read more about prior award winners. We are honored that Dr. Stannard has recognized Montana’s great mathematics teachers with these awards!
